The American Cleaning Institute has announced the appointment of Matt Bisenius as director, Government Affairs. Matthew will be responsible for the development and implementation of ACI legislative and targeted regulatory policy with respect to federal issues, laws and standards.

A pilot study to investigate whether microorganisms that remain present on poorly washed hands can be transferred beyond the washroom environment to clinical and patient areas has found that drying hands with paper towels as opposed to jet air dryers results in lower rates of virus contamination on hands and clothing.
According to the CDC, while it is possible to contract the disease by touching Covid-contaminated surfaces and then touching your nose, mouth, or eyes, the chances of this happening are "generally less than one in 10,000".
In a letter sent to the agency, ACI expressed concerns related to the "new, increasingly widespread practice of providing hand sanitisers to consumers in public settings...that are often sold in bulk and used to fill existing dispensers, which can create a serious risk to public health & safety."
