Welcome to the Cleanzine
I’m delighted to see that the ISSA’s ‘Rethink what clean means’ campaign has received so much interest, since it launched at the recent cleaning show in North America. Designed as a result of what we learned during the pandemic, its aim is to spearhead a change in the way the world views and handles cleaning, so we can be ready for the next health emergency – which we keep being told by all and sundry is just around the corner!
I’m hoping that the UK MPs’ report: ‘Embedding Effective Hygiene for a Resilient UK', issued today with similar aims along with a demand that Government gets properly involved and makes some radical changes, has as much impact and enables us to persuade the powers that be that we need to sharpen up – everywhere.
You can read an outline of the report further down this page and once you’ve done so, I’m sure that like me you’ll agree that every one of the 11 recommendations it makes for Government, regulators and the industry itself, is vitally important.
There are contact details it you’d like to get hold of the full document, which I’d highly recommend that you do. For it’s only by working together – and pulling together - that we can effect any real change here. We need to get the entire industry involved in this and I don’t just mean the US and the UK, but globally.
I’ve long believed that we’re only as clean as the last surface we touched, so until everyone cleans to the same high standards and observes exemplary hygiene practices, we haven’t quite nailed the cleaning & hygiene issues, have we? It’s time we sorted ourselves out.
