Welcome to the Cleanzine
This picture, posted by @HumanityChad on X, caught my eye. The comment read: “In the photograph, the father stands tall in his reflective jacket, a warm smile on his face despite the freezing cold. His daughter, beaming with pride, takes the selfie. Her caption reads: ‘My dad is a cleaner. If you don’t look down on his job, a simple greeting would make us very happy’. This single sentence speaks volumes about the dignity of labour and the human need for recognition and respect. The image is a celebration of not just one man but of countless workers whose efforts often go unnoticed. From clearing snow and collecting waste to ensuring our streets are clean and safe, these individuals form the backbone of our communities.”
My heart was so warmed by these comments that it may well have melted the snow in the pic, had I been stood there too. Sadly I don’t know who the lass or her father are, (but would be grateful for any pointers). I certainly hope the post has had thousands of ‘likes’!
My reply? “Cleaning's one of the most important jobs there is. If all cleaners/refuse collectors downed tools, everything would fall apart very quickly. Perhaps if Hollywood made a horror film about that happening, society would realise the crucial part our cleaners play in keeping us safe!”
Finally, an apology. The pictures to illustrate my comments last week about the disgusting state of parts of the London Underground weren’t attached to the broadcast, which may have seemed a little confusing as a result. They’re on our Facebook page though. Please feel free to share pictures/info on your own findings…

Before joining forces with Keenan Recycling, food waste management was a significant challenge. Food waste was disposed of in general waste bins, contributing to higher disposal costs due to its weight. The lack of a structured recycling process limited the organisation’s ability to align with its sustainability OCS and Everton F.C. 'strike' five-year FM partnership to support new stadium
Everton F.C., a founding member of the Football League (1888) and the Premier League (1992), currently competes in the top tier of English football. Ahead of the 2025-26 season, the club will move to its new Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock on the banks of the River Mersey. The stadium move is part of a wider regeneration of Liverpool's North Docks, and the area around the club's current home ground, Goodison Park, will be used for new affordable housing.

An investigation by the department's Occupational Safety & Health Administration revealed that on 8th June, 2024, two employees of Southeast Services of the Treasure Coast were cleaning a drainpipe at the intersection of Southwest Becker Road and Southwest Village Parkway.
