Pay market App launched to support managers on the move

Determining how much to pay employees is probably the most important decision an organisation can make. The problem is that dependable data about wages and salaries is hard to find and - when available - often barely affordable for all but the largest employers. That has now all changed - thanks to a clever new App called 'Jobsworth' launched this week by The Federation of European Employers (FedEE - the leading organisation for multinational companies operating in Europe).

Cleanzine - the original Cleaning & Hygiene industry e-news

Read by industry professionals in 148 countries worldwide!

The story in today's issue about the incredible efforts made by US college students to win the nationwide recycling race both inspired and disappointed me.

'Inspired' because it shows just what can be achieved with the right incentives and leadership - 92,000,000 lbs of recyclables collected over a mere eight weeks is not to be sniffed at! 'Disappointed' because - although we're supposed to be part of a similar initiative in the UK - I knew nothing about it, which with two daughters having between them attended two senior schools, two colleges and three universities in different parts of the UK, makes me think that not very much is being done about it!

If you're in the UK and are aware of this competition, please let me know about it (and indeed, if you're in another part of the world where students take part in a similar initiative I'd like to know about that too).

And if you're one of the sponsors and are frustrated that your message is not getting across, do make sure you get in touch. This is one very clever initiative that teaches our young people about the benefits of recycling in a fun way and is a lesson that they will take with them throughout life. I'd like very much to get involved. Cleanzine has subscribers in 148 different countries. With a bit of work and some free publicity, we may just be able to spread this 'RecycleMania' around the globe...

Yours,
