Private equity firms have bid $22 billion for SCA hygiene unit-paper
A group of private equity companies have bid around 200 billion Swedish crowns ($22.26 billion) for the hygiene arm of tissue and forestry products firm SCA (SCAb.ST), daily Dagens Nyheter wrote on Wednesday, citing unnamed sources. SCA said last year it planned to split into two units.
"At least two private equity companies together have bid around 200 billion crowns for the hygiene unit," DN said. more
Proposals for cutting food waste discussed
 On Tuesday, Environment MEPs put forward a number of possible measures to cut the EU 88 million tonnes per year food waste by half by 2030. MEPs called on the European Commission to lift existing restrictions on food donations and stressed that a solution is needed for the confusion created for many consumers by the 'best before' and 'use by' labelling. more
SCA to become two listed companies

Europe's happiest workers revealed
Levels of job satisfaction vary significantly across Europe, with Dutch, Polish and Swiss employees being the most satisfied, according to research by ADP. The new study of nearly 10,000 European working adults explores how employees across Europe feel about the future of work.
According to the research, Dutch, Polish and Swiss employees are the most satisfied, whilst the UK comes joint fifth. In the UK, satisfaction levels also differ greatly across regions; three quarters of those based in the East are satisfied (75%), whilst only 59% of employees in Northern Ireland are satisfied. more

RAS gears up for SaniGives
Towards the end of last year, The Restroom Association (Singapore) unveiled plans for SaniGives, a new initiative designed to recognise cleaning attendants. RAS asked its existing partners - Adkel Solutions, Adsec Global, and Viso - to support SaniGives by raising donations.
The donations will be used to organise tribute meals and present grocery vouchers to cleaning attendants during 'appreciation activities'. Members of the public who donate to RAS online via www.giving.sg will benefit from discounts of up to $60 when they purchase products directly from the three partners. more
