I daresay that few of those from outside of the cleaning industry - whether amongst the crowds lining the streets or watching from the dry comfort of their homes - gave a thought to the mammoth task this four-day long celebration presented to those responsible for ensuring that the streets were pristine before the event and cleaned up during and after it, so let me say it on everyone's behalf...
