2014 Loo of the Year Awards success

* LOTY_kev_orkian.jpgInterest in the Loo of the Year Awards continues to grow as entrants recognise the value of gaining prestige and recognition of their brand - and importantly their employee's efforts, as a result of achieving awards.

Competition entrants also use the Awards grading to benchmark their toilet provision performance against competitors and can use the awards success as a real benefit when in negotiations with customers and prospects.

Overall entries increased by more than 14% compared to 2013 with increases in most sectors, including the scheme's first entry from the Republic of Ireland! Significant entry sector increases included a 28% increase in Shopping Centres, 35% increase in the Hospitality sector and even a 3% increase in overall Public Toilet entries following a period of decline during which many Local Authorities cut budgets for discretionary spend, including toilet provision. Every entry was inspected and graded by the Awards team of trained and experienced inspectors against established criteria for each and every type of toilet.

"We have been very impressed with the high standards of cleaning and maintenance performed by in-house cleaners, cleaning contractors and FM companies, evidenced during our inspection visits," notes Loo of the Year Awards' managing director Mike Bone. "The improvements in design and the quality of fixtures and fittings are also recognising users' needs for attractive as well as functional facilities to meet all of their personal requirements.
"Hygienic services that minimise the risk of infection transfer whilst also saving energy continue to become more prevalent."

All entrants have been advised of the Loo of the Year Award they achieved and National and UK Awards will be presented at the daytime Presentation Event on Friday 5th December at the elegant four star St Johns Hotel in Solihull. In addition to the presentation of the Awards there will be a sparkling wine reception, four course lunch with wine, supplier exhibition, entertainment by international comedian Kev Orkian (pictured) and excellent networking opportunities.
