ISSA & BBS announce September CIMS Certification training workshop

ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association & BBS (BICS Business Services) has this week announced details of its second 'Industry Certification Expert' training workshop. These workshops form an integral part of ISSA's acclaimed Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) which launched in the UK and Ireland earlier this year.

The workshop will be run by ISSA's partner BBS and will be held on 17th September, 2014 at the Forest of Arden Hotel & Country Club in Birmingham.

CIMS is a consensus-based management standard geared toward validating and improving the professionalism of cleaning service providers. Certification to the CIMS Standard provides a clear way for a contract cleaning company to differentiate itself from its competition through demonstrating a commitment to quality, as well as a keen focus on customer satisfaction, continual operational improvement and best use of resources.

"These are exciting times for the industry; CIMS gives organisations the opportunity to distinguish themselves as a true innovator and leader within the marketplace" said Justin Calver, BBS.

Manufacturers and distributors as well as training and consultancy firms, also have the opportunity with CIMS to expand their industry knowledge and strengthen their customer relationships by assisting customers in preparation for CIMS certification. To do this, individuals are encouraged to participate in September's training workshop and pass an examination to become an 'Industry Certification Expert.'

This new workshop date follows the success of the first ICE training event in March 2014.

Says Keith Baker, ISSA director of EMEA Services:

"We were thrilled with the success of the first workshop - and the appetite and enthusiasm for the September training has exceeded even that - proving that the market is, indeed, hungry for professional standards that can highlight top performers."

More than 1,500 cleaning industry professionals have now qualified as Industry Certification Experts worldwide and ISSA says that past attendees of international workshops have been able to save their customers or own organisations more than six figures annually by helping them comply with CIMS and achieve certification to the Standard.

Further ICE workshops in the UK and Ireland for 2015 will be announced in the coming weeks and private, bespoke workshops can also be conducted at companies' own facilities as required.
