Breaking Barriers Bursary deadline extended to 31st August 2026

The cleaning industry keeps the world running. Hospitals, schools, offices, transport… And none of it functions without the people who maintain it. Yet the contribution of our workforce rarely makes the headlines.

The Breaking Barriers Bursary is the Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners' way of saying: “We see you, and we're investing in your family's future”.

Worth £5,000 a year for up to three years for any higher education course, it's open to anyone aged 18-25 starting same this Autumn, whose parent or guardian works anywhere in the cleaning industry in any role for any employer.

Waiting on A-level results or a clearing place? Well, there's good news; the deadline has been extended to 31st August 2026, giving you time to confirm your plans before applying.
