Danish cleaning industry day gains momentum as digital transformation accelerates
Branchedag, 28th May 2026, is a growing annual event for the Danish cleaning industry as it continues to increase in both size and relevance, reflecting a clear shift towards digital tools and technology-driven operations across the sector.
What began as a series of smaller seminars, has developed into a full industry day and an established meeting point for decision-makers in the Danish cleaning industry. The event brings together cleaning managers and heads of department from private companies and municipalities, alongside larger cleaning sector providers and technology specialists.
Attendance has grown steadily, reaching more than 100 participants in 2026. This development highlights an increasing focus on improving planning, documentation and efficiency in daily operations.
The 2026 programme focuses on how digitalisation is applied in practice. Topics include artificial intelligence, automation, robotics and data-driven management, all with a clear operational focus.
Participants will gain insight into how technology is being used to solve concrete challenges such as staff planning, quality assurance and time tracking.
"Branchedag offers a range of inspiring speakers and discussions, giving a clear picture of how AI and robotics are transforming the cleaning industry," says Daniel Turi Hedelund, consultant at the Danish Technological Institute.
Frantz Furrer, founder and CCO at CleanManager, emphasises a practical approach to digitalisation, saying:
"Start with what creates the most value. You will make mistakes, and that is how you learn."
A new initiative in 2026 is the Cleaning Industry Digitalisation Award, recognising individuals who are driving change in their organisations. The Award highlights the people behind the transformation, those who take responsibility, test new solutions and make digital tools work in everyday cleaning operations.
Two categories will be awarded:
• Leader of the Year 2026, recognising leaders who have driven digital development and created measurable improvements
• Employee of the Year 2026, recognising staff who have helped implement new ways of working in practice
Relevant initiatives include the use of AI, cleaning robots, and digital tools for planning, documentation, quality control and time tracking.

Many companies are facing increasing demands for documentation, ongoing labour challenges and rising expectations around consistency and quality. Digital tools are becoming an essential part of running efficient operations.
Bjarne Overgaard, owner of BO Consult, explains:
"Documentation, transparency and technology are no longer 'nice to have', they are essential. If companies do not act now, they risk falling behind."
Kirstine Bie, head of cleaning department in Horsens municipality, adds
:
"It is a highly engaging day with a well-composed programme covering the topics from multiple perspectives. There is strong participation and openness among attendees, which created real value."
