Sofidel's environmental commitment recognised in 2025 CDP Climate & Forests rating

* Gruppo-Sofidel.jpegThe Sofidel Group, among the global leaders in the production of paper for hygienic and household use, has once again been recognised by CDP - one of the main independent organisations for measuring and reporting environmental performance and responsibly managing forest resources.

In 2025, Sofidel received an A rating for both Climate Change and Forests.

In the forestry area, where CDP introduced a commodity-based assessment (Commodity Scores) for the first time last year, Sofidel achieved an A score for Timber, the highest possible rating, confirming the company's excellence in sustainable management and in the responsible sourcing of pulp - a key raw material for tissue production.

"These results highlight our rigorous commitment to environmental sustainability," comments Riccardo Balducci, group sustainability director at Sofidel. "Climate and forests are two fundamental areas of our policies to reach carbon neutrality by 2050 and to preserve the integrity of our supply chains."

The Group is committed, through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), to achieving Net Zero by 2050. In terms of forest management, 100% of the Group's forest-based raw material procurement comes from suppliers certified according to strict environmental, social and economic standards guaranteed by independent third-party certification schemes (FSC, FSC Controlled Wood, PEFC).

Sofidel is also among the first companies to join 'Forests Forward', the multi-stakeholder initiative launched by World Wide Fund for Nature internationally, aimed at combating deforestation, preserving ecosystems and protecting the rights of local communities.

In 2025, CDP assessed more than 22,100 companies worldwide.

Established in 1966, the Sofidel Group is active in 13 countries, 12 in Europe and the US (12 States), with over 9,500 employees and a production capacity of 1,983,000 metric tons per year. It is headquartered in Lucca, Italy.
