ACI hires sustainability manager, strengthening member support and program initiatives
The American Cleaning Institute, the trade association for the US cleaning product supply chain, has hired Michael Ellis to the Sustainability team.
Michael will serve as sustainability manager at ACI, supporting both ongoing programs and the development of new initiatives that advance industry-wide sustainability progress, advocacy, knowledge building and outreach.
In his role, he will leverage data analysis, project management and subject matter expertise to cross-collaborate with other ACI departments and support member priorities. He will also lead the development of ACI's 2026 Sustainability Report.
"Michael's research experience and knowledge of the industry will add tremendous value for our members and sustainability program," notes Emily Trentacope, PhD, ACI vice president of sustainability. "His efforts and support will bolster ACI's leadership in sustainability and innovation for the cleaning products supply chain."
Prior to joining ACI, Michael worked as a sustainability consultant for Environmental Resources Management, as well as a research associate for ISS Stoxx. He holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees, one in Environmental & Sustainability Studies and one in Economics, from Indiana University, as well as a Master of Arts in Economics from Clemson University. He also earned Certificates in Environmental & Natural Resources Policy as well as Carbon Accounting.
