Peartree Cleaning Services partners with PVA Hygiene to eliminate single-use plastic
Peartree Cleaning Services has taken another significant step forward in its sustainability journey by partnering with PVA Hygiene to eliminate single-use plastic from its supply chain.
As part of Peartree's commitment to embedding sustainable practices across every aspect of its operations, from procurement to on-site delivery, the company has introduced PVA's innovative range of sustainable cleaning products across a number of client sites. These include surface cleaning and disinfectant products, washroom and toilet maintenance products and floorcare products - all designed to reduce plastic waste and lower environmental impact.
By replacing pre-diluted 750ml trigger spray bottles with sustainable powder sachets, Peartree has achieved an 88% reduction in plastic consumption. The PVA sachets come in water-soluble paper packaging, further reducing waste and eliminating the need for single-use plastics.
"Sustainability isn't just a corporate buzzword, it's about making real, practical changes that everyone can see and understand,” argues Peartree’s sustainability manager Georgie Hull. “The PVA Hygiene water-soluble paper sachets will enable us to reduce waste by 90% compared to traditional commercial cleaning solutions."
Stuart Conroy, Peartree’s commercial director, adds:
"Over the past year, Peartree has been on an incredible journey to strengthen our commitment to sustainability, demonstrating our leadership in the cleaning industry and our dedication to a greener future.
“Our partnership with PVA Hygiene is another example of how we're taking meaningful, measurable steps to reduce our environmental impact, through innovation, collaboration and responsible product choices that benefit both our clients and the planet."
Peartree's sustainability strategy also includes the procurement of 100% recycled refuse sacks, as well as the adoption of biodegradable, non-toxic, renewable and efficient cleaning ingredients, packaged in recyclable, reusable, or compostable materials wherever possible.
