Carlisle Support Services secures Soft FM contract with South Western Railway
Carlisle Support Services has secured a Soft FM contract with South Western Railway (SWR), further growing its well-established portfolio of clients within the rail sector.
The partnership went live in April following a three-month mobilisation period, now covering the cleaning and servicing of more than 180 stations, offices and depots spanning from London to Weymouth and to the Isle of Wight.
"Having personally supported South Western Railway over many years through a range of security and customer service solutions within previous roles and organisations, I am very excited about this contract,” reveals David Evans, head of operations at Carlisle. “With Carlisle's collaborative partnership approach, we are confident that our deep expertise allows us to deliver exceptional rail environments and drive tangible improvements in SQR performance across this network."
With 70-plus frontline staff members transferring to Carlisle, the company's HR and compliance teams worked diligently throughout the consultation and mobilisation period to ensure that all TUPE staff received a thorough and supportive transition process.
Richard Jenkins, managing director for the Cleaning and Facilities Management division at Carlisle, explains further:
"Introducing our soft FM services to South Western Railway marks a significant step in the growth of our facilities division as we continue to add value to our clients. Looking after such a heavily utilised network allows us to streamline operations, improve passenger experiences and innovate to maximise ROI through unrivalled results on SQR performance."
The mobilisation phase saw the implementation of new uniforms, upgrades to state-of-art cleaning equipment from our trusted supply partners Craftex & Killis alongside the introduction of premium, environmentally-friendly cleaning supplies through our partnership with Paragon Products.
As part of this transition, Carlisle has internally appointed Stewart Smith as regional contract manager to oversee the SWR partnership. With over a decade of industry experience, Stewart is exceptionally well-positioned to lead the integration of 70 new team members and ensure a consistent, knowledgeable, and value-driven approach in welcoming South Western Railway into the Carlisle portfolio.
This contract win further strengthens Carlisle's long-standing presence in the UK rail sector as it continues to deliver critical support services to the majority of UK's train operating companies.
