Genesis+HOCl’s indoor air quality expertise showcased

* Genesis.jpgIn recognition of Air Quality Awareness Week 2025 (May 5th – 9th), Genesis+HOCl is bringing attention to a little-known but powerful clean-air solution that is beginning to gain ground: HOCl atomising.

While we have long relied on filters, air purifiers and chemical disinfectants to clean indoor spaces, HOCl (hypochlorous acid) - a compound produced naturally by the human immune system - is emerging as a safe, non-toxic, and highly effective way to disinfect air and surfaces simultaneously. It is already widely used in Japan and South Korea, says Genesis.

"Most people don't realise the air inside is often far more polluted than the air outside," says Ruth Bernard, co-owner of Genesis+HOCl. "Our atomising systems disperse nature's own defence molecule into the air to neutralise airborne viruses, mould, bacteria and allergens - without chemicals, without ozone, and without compromise."

HOCl, or hypochlorous acid, is produced by white blood cells to combat infection and pathogens. In stabilised form, it can be dispersed into indoor environments as an ultra-fine mist - naturally neutralising airborne contaminants while gently cleaning all exposed surfaces.

Genesis says that unlike traditional filters which simply trap particles, or chemical foggers which leave residues, HOCl atomising works actively in the air and is safe to inhale. It is also free from synthetic fragrances, dyes, irritants, or allergens.

A recent article published by Scientific American (May 2025) titled: ‘Hypochlorous acid is trending in skin care and cleaning-but does it work?’ explored the rise of HOCl's popularity in wellness and infection control circles, further validating its growing mainstream appeal.

Genesis+HOCl is among the first US-based companies to harness this technology at scale, offering commercial and residential units which support healthier indoor environments across industries - from healthcare to hospitality, animal care, and wellness facilities.

"We believe clean air shouldn't come with trade-offs," adds Genesis. "Our customers use HOCl because it's effective and gentle. It doesn't trigger allergies, irritate lungs, or create chemical pollution. It just works-like nature intended."

The company is using Air Quality Awareness Week to spotlight this technology and offer a free HOCl atomizer giveaway to one person who contacts Genesis+HOCl through its website by tomorrow, 9th May.
