Industrial cleaning company scoops facilities management business

A Durham-based family-owned industrial cleaning company has acquired a North East facilities management business for an undisclosed figure.

Orca Cleaning Group, which moved to a larger unit on Belmont Industrial Estate in Durham after outgrowing its previous one in 2023, purchased Millen Service UK (trading as Millen FM) which will continue to operate under its original name under its new ownership.

"We have historically delivered services for Millen FM and the owner was looking to sell, so it made complete sense for us to make this move and bring the business under the Orca group of companies,” explains CEO, Steven Holmes. “This enables us to have more autonomy over the contracts and also offer a really streamlined approach to all of our customers, providing a wider portfolio of services from under one roof."

The facilities management company offers services such as retail park litter picking, bin emptying and external cleaning services currently which ties in perfectly with Orca's industrial cleaning offering which includes high level cleaning, chewing gum removal and more.

The acquisition brings the opportunity for a raft of new jobs as there are also prospect enquiries for energy, electricals, building and maintenance as well as solar EV and post erecting for parking groups, as well as full stack parking solutions such as ticketing and CCTV.
