Applications open for Purus Innovation Award 2025
Applications are now open for the CMS Purus Innovation Awards. PIA 2025 recognises outstanding innovations in the industry, such as sustainable cleaning agents, AI-supported assistance systems and energy-efficient machines.
The awards are presented by CMS Berlin, the trade fair for the cleaning & hygiene sector, which will take place for the 12th time at the Berlin Exhibition Centre from 23rd - 26th September 2025. All exhibitors and co-exhibitors at CMS Berlin 2025 can now apply for the prestigious industry award. The award will be presented in six categories: Cleaning Machines, Robotics/AI, Equipment, Washroom Hygiene, Digital Tools and Systems and Cleaning Agents.
A new category is Robotics/AI, which recognises the increasing use of intelligent technologies in professional cleaning.
An eight-member jury of recognised industry experts will evaluate the entries and nominate the finalists, who will be announced in July. The award ceremony will take place during the CMS Exhibitor Evening on 23rd September. New to the jury this year is Gerhard Komarek, Federal Guild Master of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce for Monument, Facade and Building Cleaners; managing director of Sigron Handels- & SchulungsgmbH Austria. He has a wide range of expertise in the industry and adds an Austrian perspective to the wide-ranging expertise of the jury.
The closing date for competition entries is 13 June 2025.
At CMS Berlin, visitors will have the opportunity to get to know the 18 PIA finalists in themed innovation tours. These guided tours offer an exclusive insight into the nominated innovations and their application potential.
At the 11th CMS Berlin in 2023, over 420 exhibitors from 25 countries presented a complete market overview of products from all areas of commercial cleaning technology on more than 31,000sq.m. Around 21,000 visitors gathered information at the four-day trade fair. This means that CMS Berlin attracted more visitors than ever before.
The event's supporting organisations are the Federal Guild Association of the Building Cleaning Trade (BIV); the Cleaning Systems Association of the German Engineering Federation (VDMA); and the Industrial Association for Hygiene and Surface Protection for Industrial and Institutional Applications (IHO).
