Morclean’s R & D facility: three years of impressive innovation - and counting!
Three years ago this month, Morclean opened its Research & Development facility at its Headquarters in Wednesbury, West Midlands and wasted no time in ensuring it was put to good use.
From that hub, the company has developed and built a raft of innovative machines - including the best-selling Bin Wash range.
The building of the R & D facility came about in 2021 when Morclean was desperate for more space, since its cleaning products were in high demand and the original facility couldn’t cope with fulfilling the orders.
“Our team are very knowledgeable and have got years of experience of building and designing, and we really wanted an area they could put this to good use,” says Morclean.
This new R & D facility had plenty of space for the team to build and design prototypes. Complete with new office space for staff and a dedicated workshop, it was just what Morclean needed in order to be able to expand and grow.
There is space for in-house fabrication, production and assembly, along with specialist plastic welding and painting too. This has allowed the team to be even more creative than ever, and a myriad of new machines has come to life and been sent out into the world for its customers to use for so many important cleaning tasks.
The latest models to have been developed are the Bin Wash Optima, Bin Wash Cargo, along with the latest machine - the Bin Wash Metro.
The new Bin Wash Metro is an entry level bin wash cleaning machine, something that Morclean’s customers have been asking for.
Professionally built using the highest quality components, this machine gives you bin washing on the move, with the added flexibility of roof cleaning, jet washing and pressure cleaning. The Metro is an all-rounder machine, and best of all is available at a budget-friendly cost.
It is an effective wheelie bin cleaner, designed for single 240litre bins - which is the domestic wheelie bin we all know. The Metro uses a manual lift, which makes it smaller and more streamlined than other models that require hydraulics.
Wheelie bins are washed within the canopy to contain the overspray, and all the water used is self-contained within the housing. The water is collected in the catchment tray and sent through various filters before returning to the main pump, and can be re-used throughout the day. There is also the option to add a water-fresher system.
The Bin Wash Optima offers an all-new water treatment. This machine boasts a unique water treatment system that keeps the recycled water much fresher and cleaner, with the recirculating water automatically dosed with a product that keeps it clean. This feature was developed by the Morclean team specifically for this machine - it cleans the water and also works against the bad and odorous bacteria in the water.
In addition, the Optima has an easy-to-clean catchment tray that helps remove larger debris, while a second catchment tray also filters the water.
The Bin Wash Cargo was designed in-house to satisfy the needs of anyone in the market for a mobile bin wash that can be mounted to almost any pick-up truck. Namely a double cab, crew cab or a single cab pick-up. The idea was that it would be perfect for operators in inner-city centres and rural roads that can be narrow with tight corners. Morclean researched the market and established feedback from customers, and with that information created a prototype at the R & D facility.
The Cargo is fitted with a hydraulic lift and an automated rotary cleaning head, which makes cleaning the bins so easy and effortless. It is also fitted with the 4-stage filtration, water fresher system and is run on an electric start engine for maximum reliability. It is very economical to run.
“Having the dedicated space to develop new ideas and try out different concepts – along with the room to design everything, has really allowed us to grow as a business and expand our horizons even more,” says Morclean. “We continue to supply our customers all over the world with the highest quality cleaning products, and work alongside them to develop solutions for their cleaning problems.
“Morclean is thrilled to have reached this three year milestone - here's to many more years of innovation!”
