Atlas conquers Yorkshire Three Peaks for charity

* Atlas-Yorkshire-3-Peaks.jpgAtlas has raised almost £3,000 for the charities Action for Children and PDSA. A total of 16 employees from across the Atlas group worked together to conquer the Yorkshire Three Peaks on last Friday.

Starting early with the sunrise before 5am, the team hiked up and down Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent fells in a circular route. They braved windy conditions and the odd loose sheep to complete the challenge successfully. Numerous blisters and some tired legs did not stop the team from enjoying a celebratory drink together at the end of the 24.5-mile challenge.

The charity initiative is part of Atlas' expanding ESG efforts, which have also seen the company clean up beaches in Bournemouth, remove trash from the Thames, and donate £10s of thousands to pay for early years teaching apprenticeships.

"We are continually amazed at the commitment that our partners demonstrate in supporting our work to ensure every child and young person has a safe and happy childhood - one of which is Atlas," says Action for Children. "They have put together a strong team of trekkers taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks. We wanted to say thank you so much for showing such commitment in our cause to help children and young people live a better quality of life."

Similarly, PDSA were also grateful for the donation, saying:

"From everyone here at PDSA, we would like to say a huge thank you to Atlas for your hard work and determination in both your training and fundraising efforts for taking part in Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. Thanks to our supporters, in 2023 we treated over 430,000 pet patients belonging to people in need. This means that we cared for 4,800 pets every working day, and treated 10 pets every minute. We hope the team has had the opportunity to take some well-deserved rest and to put their feet up!"

Atlas' purpose is to create happiness for its people, customers and communities. Founded almost 40 years ago, Atlas offers the full suite of facilities management services to its clients and employs over 11,000 people at over 6,000 sites, working with many of Britain's best-known brands.
