ACI mourns loss of industry icon F. Quinn Stepan

The American Cleaning Institute is mourning the loss of F. Quinn Stepan, longtime chairman, president and CEO of Stepan Company and former Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Soap & Detergent Association, (the previous name of ACI) where he served on the Board for seven years.

A recipient of the Association's 2010 Elva Walker Spillane Distinguished Service Award, which honours extensive and exceptional service and leadership within the Association and the industry at-large, he passed away on 13th May.

"The American Cleaning Institute expresses its deepest condolences to Quinn Stepan's family and friends and all of those employees - past and present - of Stepan Company who knew and respected him," says Melissa Hockstad, ACI President and CEO.

"Quinn helped build Stepan Company into a global powerhouse within the surfactants and chemical industries. The company has been and remains a mainstay of ACI activities and the throughout our supply chain.

"We know how important family was to Quinn as well as the friends and community around him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered."
