Christeyns Professional Hygiene launches eco-friendly cleaning range
As part of the wider Christeyns Group, Whaley Bridge-based Christeyns Professional Hygiene, is increasing its focus on sustainability and has launched its Green'R range of cleaning products that helps reduce ecological footprint.
The nine products are produced, where possible, from primarily plant-based ingredients, where the environment is considered in all stages of the product cycle, using environmentally-friendly raw materials and sustainable formulations.
"As a detergent manufacturer, we are very much aware of our social responsibility towards the environment," comments Andy Hilditch, site director at Whaley Bridge. "This range demonstrates this approach which encompasses raw materials, energy consumption and waste.
"The products are used in low doses, are phosphate free and non-toxic, several are vegan-friendly and all packaging is 100% recyclable. For professional hygiene users this means ecological cleaning combined with efficiency."
All the Green'R products are certified by either the EU Ecolabel or the Nordic Swan, ensuring they meet the highest environmental and performance standards. Ecologically certified cleaning products play a crucial role in helping companies obtain industry-specific certifications related to environmental standards, having already received certification from a third-party.
The range of products covers kitchen hygiene, ware washing, washroom cleaning, interior surface cleaning, floorcare and personal hygiene and is available exclusively through distributors, offering customers the opportunity to make a conscious choice towards a cleaner planet.
Christeyns Professional Hygiene works across a broad spectrum of industries and sectors, including cleaning companies, hotels, leisure, care and healthcare sectors, as well as education and provides for these diverse sectors through an extensive network of distributors spanning the UK, Ireland, and Europe.
Founded in 1946, Christeyns developed into an international detergents and chemicals group in various B2B markets. Still a 100% privately owned family business, with headquarters in Ghent Belgium, Christeyns now runs factories worldwide and produces specialist chemicals for several industry sectors.
Christeyns' UK operation dates from 1998 when it bought the Oils & Soaps company in Bradford. It now includes cleaning chemicals specialists Cole & Wilson and Warrington-based Christeyns Food Hygiene as well as its new Professional Hygiene division.
Founded in 1990 as Clover Chemicals, Christeyns Professional Hygiene produces a range of over 200 products for the cleaning sector. With a turnover of c.£8.5m and 90 employees, it has a manufacturing facility that spans 130,000 sq.ft across a 13.5-acre site, complemented by a dedicated office and Research & Development building.
