Company has its first taste of green glory
Chiswick Park & JPC by Samsic has won an International Green Apple Environment Award in the campaign to find the greenest companies.
The company competed against more than 800 other nominations in the International Green Apple Awards, and was presented with its trophy and certificate at a glittering ceremony in the Houses of Parliament, London, last month.
As a result of this International Green Apple Award success, the company has been invited to accept Green World Ambassador status and have its winning paper published in The Green Book (the leading international work of reference on environmental best practice) so that others around the world can follow its lead and learn from its achievement.
The judges said of its project - Transforming Waste Management and Fostering Guest Engagement:
"The Chiswick Park project introduced a dedicated waste & recycling manager in December 2022, focusing on waste reduction, recycling and compliance. This initiative achieved a recycling rate of 53.07% from December 2022 to May 2023, with 67% of guest companies exceeding a 50% recycling rate."
This will also entitle the company to represent its country in the Green World Environment Awards that are held in a different country every year.
The Green Apple Awards are run by The Green Organisation - an international, independent, non-profit, non-political environment group that began in 1994 to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice around the world.
