Atlas joins forces with Confida and Two Counties

Fast-growing facilities management company, Atlas, has been enlarged by two strong businesses in Scotland and southern England. Both Confida FM, an £8m support services firm based in Ayr, and Two Counties Cleaning Services, a £6m cleaning specialist in Hampshire and Dorset, have become the newest parts of the Atlas group.

The strategy behind the deals is to invest in talented people and a strong contract base in those parts of the UK. They build upon Atlas' existing footprint, which includes long-term agreements with private sector and public sector organisations in those areas. It brings the Atlas group employee base to over 11,000 with over 700 people in Scotland and 1,000 in southern English counties.

Confida holds valued contracts with the likes of Merck and Thermo Fisher, as well as public sector bodies such as East Ayrshire Council. There is now the potential for Confida to develop partnerships in terms of services and sites with clients in the wider UK.

Two Counties works with many schools, medical centres, holiday parks, leisure facilities and industrial sites throughout Hampshire and Dorset. Two Counties also has successful long-standing contracts with local authorities and NHS properties, which reflects its strength in the area.

"Both Confida and Two Countries bring excellent people and contracts into the Atlas family," notes group managing director of Atlas, Chris Wisely. "We already offer high quality services to our clients, but Confida's strength in Scotland and Two Counties' operations in southern England mean that we can offer more resilience and range of services than ever before."

Commercial operations director of Confida FM, Lorraine Brophy agrees that this is the best way forward, saying:
