BICSC Awards 2023 - finalists and celebrity host announced

* BICSc_Paul-Sinha.jpgThe British Institute of Cleaning Science has revealed this year’s shortlisted finalists in the annual BICSc Awards, along with the name of the celebrity who’ll host the event: star of TV's The Chase, Paul Sinha, professional quizzer, comedian, doctor and broadcaster.

The Institute received a phenomenal number of entries for this year's esteemed Awards, which will take place on Thursday, 21st September 2023, at The Forest of Arden Hotel & Country Club.

Neil Spencer-Cook, BICSc group managing director, says of the Awards: "Once again, our industry-leading awards attracted an incredible number of entries, which are of exceptional calibre. Our awards allow us to shine a spotlight on inspirational individuals and organisations operating within the global cleaning community.

"We have reviewed all the entrants and are delighted to announce the shortlist of finalists. We look forward to being able to announce the winners at our illustrious awards ceremony being staged in September and would like to congratulate all of those who have been shortlisted and everyone who has entered."

Those who’ve made it onto the shortlist are:

Outstanding Corporate Member of the Year - presented to a BICSc corporate member for their outstanding corporate commitment to the Institute and through excellence in supporting the Institute's goal of raising awareness and standards for the cleaning industry:

Excellence in Training & Assessment (UK) - for training and development by an Accredited Training Member, who is audited and approved to deliver BICSc training and assessment within their organisation based in the UK:

Excellence in Training & Assessment (International) - for training & development by an Accredited Training Member, who is audited and approved to deliver BICSc training & assessment within their organisation operating outside of the UK:

Assessor of the Year - this acknowledges the success of an inspirational individual Licensed Assessor who, when it comes to exacting standards, continues to strive to raise the bar. This accolade will be awarded to someone who demonstrates an outstanding level of passion, professionalism and commitment to excellence for their students and themselves:

• Pundarik Ghimire
• Ameenulla Syed
• Emma Windle
• Nicola Boulter

Outstanding Client Commitment by a Cleaning Operative - for an individual who exhibits exceptional commitment to BICSc standards. They will be a supporting figure when it comes to excellent service delivery:

• Christine McKinnon
• Elaine Noble
• Olga Bancov

Outstanding Candidate of the Year - this special Award reflects the exceptional achievement of an individual and their award of BICSc qualifications. The focus will be centred on how the candidate has been able to achieve an award against personal difficulties or adversity. It shines a spotlight on someone who has gone the extra mile to complete and receive BICSc qualifications within the workplace:

• Syful Islam Rahat Khalifa
• Steven Parish
• Mirza Ehteshamul Haque

Ahead of the evening awards event, BICSc will again host its popular Exhibition and Industry Insights Conference featuring guest speakers from across the sector. Keynote speakers will include Gill McAteer from Citation who will provide the latest insights on HR and Employment Law impacting the industry.

Gareth Hughes from Anti Bacterial Sciences will also be joined by fellow speaker Lawrence Osborne from Taski and Nicky Biggart from Evans Vanodine International, who will address delegates about sustainability in the cleaning and hygiene industry.
