Mitie’s FM contract extended with Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office

* Mitie-Lancaster-House.jpgMitie has secured a two-year contract extension to provide total facilities management (TFM) services for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) sites in London and Hanslope Park, Milton Keynes. The contract extension is for two years and will start on 1st December 2023.

Mitie will provide planned and reactive maintenance, cleaning, reception, helpdesk, porterage, waste management, grounds maintenance and catering - as well as supporting with project work across the FCDO's sites. This includes the FCDO's main building in London - the official residence of the Foreign Secretary at Lancaster House, 1 Carlton Gardens (pictured) and the specialist 40 acre site in Hanslope Park, Milton Keynes.

Under the extended contract, Mitie will continue to invest in its people through the introduction of new training programmes as well as deliver strategic improvement activities including new technology which optimises building. Data gathered by the software can be filtered by site, building, and asset, and can be used to generate insights to identify areas for improvement to drive cost efficiencies and service enhancements.

This contract extension builds on Mitie's long-standing relationship of 15 years with FCDO, during which time it has worked closely with the department to enhance its FM solutions.

"Having worked closely with FCDO for the past 15 years, we look forward to continuing this essential support across the UK estate,” says Brian Talbot, managing director, Central Government & Defence, Mitie.

“This contract is testament to the dedication, hard work and resilience of Mitie's frontline heroes who deliver exceptional services to the department."

Eddie Hannah, head of estate operations and chief engineer, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, says:

"We are looking forward to continuing our long-standing relationship with Mitie and building on lessons learned, gained over many years, to ensure our estate remains safe, agile and delivery focused"
