Koala Kare: looking good while being inclusive
Adolescents and adults with special needs and disabilities have been an overlooked group when it comes to accommodating their basic washroom needs in public buildings and facilities. In fact, in some cases, many forego going out in public because of the lack of facilities.
As a solution that is both dignified and functional, Koala Kare offers the KB3000 Adult Changing Station, which features a changing surface that has powered height adjustment, a 500 lbs. weight capacity and a durable design meant for public buildings.
The contemporary design incorporates exceptional safety features, superb durability and careful considerations for the cared-for and the caregiver. Easy to locate and use adjustable height ranges between 12in. and 41in. assist with safe transfer to and from the changing surface and the caregiver does not need to lift the person receiving care. A curved dip in the 75.25in. long x 31.5in. wide changing surface guard allows for easier caregiver access.
Constructed from 2in. powder coated steel tubing, the unit boasts a vandal-resistant changing surface while the integrated, recessed height controls are fabricated to withstand tampering. The unit has no removable parts or exposed wires and the rust free frame makes it suitable for wet environments.
Cleaning the unit has been a big consideration in its design. Its smooth surface can easily be wiped or hosed down and cleaned and its crevice-free design helps prevent the build-up of contamination on the changing surface.
