Metsä Tissue receives again the highest Platinum rating in EcoVadis evaluation

* Metsä-EcoVadis.jpgMetsä Tissue, part of Metsä Group, (including Metsä Greaseproof Papers business) has received the highest Platinum rating in EcoVadis sustainability and social responsibility evaluation. The company is among the top 1% of all the companies rated by EcoVadis. Metsä Tissue once again scored highly in each of the four themes assessed, performing best in the environment section with a score of 90/100.

Metsä Tissue has received the highest Platinum-level every year since 2020.

"We're pleased and proud to have received a Platinum rating again this year," says Esa Kaikkonen, Metsä Tissue's CEO. “Despite many new questions, we managed to exceed the requirements of a Platinum rating and improved our results from last year. We've again demonstrated that we have an advanced sustainability management system that covers all the four themes addressed by EcoVadis and thus provides us an excellent foundation for further development of our sustainability work.

Metsä Tissue stands out on the market with its superb value chain, stretching all the way from sustainably managed forests to the responsible production and distribution of renewable products. Its aim is to help customers in developing sustainable business and making sustainable choices. Its sustainability objectives encourage it to pursue continuous improvement and it aims for fossil fuel-free mills and products by 2030. In addition, its objectives include ambitious measures to ensure that its operations are ethical and that its workplace is safe.

EcoVadis provides international corporate sustainability ratings and has developed a platform that enables companies to assess their suppliers' performance in environmental and social responsibility worldwide. The assessments are based on four themes: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
