Innovation driver CMS Berlin under new project management

* CMS-new-management.jpgFrom 19th through 22nd September 2023, the cleaning industry will be coming together live again at CMS Berlin, Europe's highly popular trade fair for the cleaning & hygiene market. For CMS, the year has begun under new project management. After 14 years in her post, Heike Hemmer is retiring and handing over project management to Ruth Senitz.

Matthias Steckmann, director of mobility & services, praised the former's achievements: "Together with BIV, VDMA and IHO, the professional organisations sponsoring the event, Heike Hemmer continued to successfully develop CMS Berlin as a showcase for innovation and driving force of the cleaning industry. This industry platform is a firm fixture on the cleaning sector's calendar of events."

In appointing Ruth Senitz, CMS has secured an experienced project manager with 20 years of expertise in events gained at Messe Düsseldorf and Messe Berlin. For 14 years she expanded IFA, the trade fair for consumer electronics and home appliances, making it an international event. She says:

"I greatly look forward to continuing to develop and expand CMS Berlin together with our strong, outstanding team. With four million employees in Europe, the cleaning industry is an important branch of industry and at the same time is undergoing a fascinating transformation. Important future topics such as sustainability, automation and the skills shortage demand new solutions. I look forward to the challenges ahead."

At this year's CMS Berlin there is an even greater focus on innovations and face-to-face meetings on specialist topics. Numerous formats await trade visitors and exhibitors, including a new Speakers' Corner, an Innovation Stage, special displays, live shows and the CMS Practical Forum.

The presentation of the Purus Innovation Award 2023 by a jury of experts is a regular event at the fair. Applications for the competition can be made on the CMS website as of March. The Mobility Cleaning Circle, an exclusive networking event featuring high-profile representatives of the mobility and cleaning industries, is also taking place again.

CMS Berlin offers startups an opportunity to kickstart their business. The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) is supporting a combined stand for domestic startups and newcomers where, on their own display area, they can present their products and business ideas. Other international startups and newcomers will be displaying their innovations nearby.

Occupying an area of more than 31,000sq.m in the halls and on the outdoor display area, around 450 exhibitors, the highest number to date, took part in CMS Berlin 2019. Coming from 25 countries, they provided a comprehensive overview of the products and services from every branch of the commercial cleaning industry.

Some 25,000 representatives of the industry, including around 21,000 trade visitors from 80 countries and every cleaning market, came to the four-day cleaning trade fair to find out about the latest products and services on the commercial cleaning market.

CMS Berlin is organised by Messe Berlin GmbH and takes place every two years. The following professional organisations are sponsors of the event: the Federal Guild Association of the Cleaning Trade (BIV), Bonn, the Cleaning Systems Trade Association in the German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA), Frankfurt/Main, and the Hygiene Industry Association (IHO), Frankfurt/Main.

The community and business platform CMS Plus is the virtual addition to the international cleaning trade fair CMS Berlin. It offers the cleaning industry interactive features for even more dialogue, information, networking and presentations.

Berlin has been a trade fair destination for 200 years, and has been one of the most important such hubs for many decades. Messe Berlin - the state's own trade fair company - conceives, markets and organises hundreds of live events every year. It strives to be an outstanding host for visitors at all events, generate optimal business stimuli, and provide fair conditions for everyone. This concept is reflected in the company slogan: Messe Berlin - Hosting the World.
