ACI CEO Melissa Hockstad named vice chair of Council of Manufacturing Associations
Congratulations to Melissa Hockstad, president & CEO of the American Cleaning Institute, who will serve as vice chair of the National Association of Manufacturers' Council of Manufacturers Associations.
Made up of 260 industry-specific manufacturing associations representing 130,000 companies worldwide, the CMA creates powerful partnerships across the industry and ensures manufacturers have the strongest possible voice.
Melissa’s leadership position was announced during the CMA 2022 Winter Leadership Conference. She will serve along with Phil Bell, president of the Steel Manufacturers Association, who will be the Chair of CMA.
"Americans are counting on manufacturers to lead our economic recovery, deliver promising career opportunities and solve our global health crises, and the collaboration made possible through the CMA empowers our entire industry to rise to the challenge," says NAM president and CEO Jay Timmons.
"Phil and Melissa are trusted and tested leaders who will continue to cultivate the collaborative, cooperative spirit that has made the CMA such a consequential organisation for our industry and country. I look forward to working with them to advance policies and plans that uphold the values that have made America exceptional and keep manufacturing strong: free enterprise, competitiveness, individual liberty and equal opportunity."
Says Melissa: "The cleaning product supply chain, whom ACI represents, proved itself to be more essential than ever, throughout the pandemic.
"I am proud to enhance the voice of cleaning product manufacturers and chemical producers through my engagement at the Council of Manufacturing Associations and look forward to tackling issues and policies that can ultimately enhance their ability to formulate, innovate and compete in today's marketplace."
The CMA's mission is focused on bolstering the industry's nationwide grassroots mobilisation efforts and improving the competitiveness of manufacturers in the US. CMA members work with the NAM to unite the manufacturing association community, and ultimately the broader business community, around strategies for increased manufacturing job creation, investment and innovation in America.
