Certol International announces sale of business
Certol International has announced that MicroCare, located in New Britain, CT, the US, completed the sale of Certol in partnership with the company's co-founders and senior management in June. Certol, founded in 1979, will continue to operate under the Certol, Acid Magic, ProSpray, and its other ‘Pro’ brands.
"We closed this sale as Certol has proven to be a strong, essential business, which should benefit from a growing global focus on cleanliness and increasing the need for more cleaning and disinfecting products, particularly in the medical and dental arenas," explains Tom Tattersall, chief executive officer at MicroCare. “Certol is a perfect fit to our approach of providing a full spectrum of critical cleaning options to our customers.
Ed Cassinis, retiring Certol president states: "The sale of Certol was a very careful one to ensure we found the right fit for our company, our employees and our customers. We are pleased that MicroCare recognises the strengths of the Certol business as well as its future potential.

Certol specialises in the manufacture and global distribution of infection prevention products for the medical and dental markets and the development of more user-friendly industrial cleaners. Since 1979 Certol has developed hundreds of safe and effective products in response to their customers' evolving cleaning and disinfecting needs.
Certol's 46,000 square foot manufacturing plant is located in Commerce City, Colorado with products available through national and international distribution partners.
Certol has a partnership with the Government Services Administration. In addition, many Certol products hold certifications from organisations such as the National Sanitation Foundation and the American National Standards Institute. Certol follows good manufacturing practices (cGMPs) and is FDA and EPA compliant.
