Bothongo Hygiene Solutions £5 million in sales in first year
A fast-growing hygiene company has celebrated its first year in business by smashing the £5 million sales barrier and launching more than 100 new products.
Bothongo Hygiene Solutions has shone in the darkest of years to post the impressive figures and emerge as a leading player in the cleaning and facilities management sector.
Reflecting on a memorable year, Nick Winstone, CEO of Bothongo Hygiene Solutions, says: "I've had to learn agility on a whole new level, seen the value of true partnership with both customers and particularly suppliers, enjoyed working with a group of colleagues from all over the world - and, most importantly, discovered what can be achieved through true teamwork.
"This has resulted in our dedicated team achieving over £5 million in sales with over 100 new products launched."
The newcomer is gearing up for a wave of product launches hot on the heels of bringing to market its flagship Zuppclean UK B2B range of over 70 products, as well as B2C Anzupp, Greenzupp and Zuppflame brands.
Bothongo Hygiene Solutions also prides itself on making the lives of its customers as easy and safe as possible and with this in mind it is now uploading short training videos to its YouTube channel.
Sustainability and affordability are core values of the firm, which is sister company to InnuScience, the established manufacturer of biotechnology cleaning products. Both are part of Bothongo Group and they share an integrated UK sales team at offices in the Northamptonshire countryside near Towcester.
"Sustainability has always been close to my heart," explains Nick. "All of our packaging used is recycled and recyclable, as well over 60% of our range meets our eco criteria.
"With the economy and our customers having suffered financial hardship, we wanted to ensure that the entire range was cost-effective and affordable, as we recover financially.
In the early stages of the pandemic, Bothongo Hygiene Solutions - then named Healthguard Hygiene - showed its agility, with able assistance from its supply chain, to provide UK key workers with a staggering 10 million bottles of sanitiser.
Explaining the rebrand, Nick says: "Having built up a solid base of satisfied customers and assessed new opportunities in the janitorial and hygiene space, it became clear that consolidation was needed across the Bothongo Group's main markets in Europe, North America and Africa. To ensure consistent positioning, Healthguard Hygiene took the decision to rebrand to reinforce its association with the Bothongo Group."
