Principle appoints sustainability manager
Principle Cleaning Services has appointed a sustainability manager. Arthur Toso joins the company after working as environment and sustainability advisor for a facilities management firm, responsible for environmental and waste management and sustainability performance tracking.
Prior to this, he worked and studied in Brazil and the US.
A graduate in Environmental Engineering, Arthur holds a Masters' degree in Environmental Management and is a Practitioner Member of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA).
He will lead Principle on its path towards Net Zero as well as support the company's clients and on-site operations with sustainable initiatives. He will also have responsibility for Principle's Environmental Management system.
"I am happy to have joined Principle, there are lots of great things already happening regarding sustainability and more yet to come," he says. "Principle's goal is the same as my ultimate goal, which is for Principle to be the most sustainable cleaning company there is. I am looking forward to our journey towards Net Zero."
Matt Kuwertz, the company's sales & marketing director, says of the appointment:
"Sustainability is a priority for Principle with our objective to become the UK's most sustainable cleaning business - and having a dedicated resource in Arthur to oversee all of our sustainable and environmental initiatives, will help us achieve this. Arthur's appointment will enable us to focus on developing new policies and achieving Net Zero emissions, working closely with our partners and clients to reach this target."
Some of the company's current initiatives include eliminating single-use plastics, reducing overall plastic use through plastic-free packaging, chemical-free cleaning processes, water-saving and water-recycling systems and consumables from closed-loop recycling.
A market leader in providing corporate, commercial cleaning in London, with clients including such well-known landmarks as The Shard, 20 Fenchurch Street and 30 St Mary Axe, the privately-owned company has an annual turnover of over £60 million and employs over 2,200 people.
