Forum Pulire 2020, a growing event
The new digital version of this unique multidisciplinary congress attracted 45% more public than the 2018 edition, with 729 participants from 26 nations.
The event covered the themes, designing for cleanliness in hospitals, restaurants, hotels and schools, innovative distribution and the calling of leadership, women in the working world, welcoming and belonging, and happiness.
Held every two years, Forum Pulire is organised by the ISSA Pulire Network - the largest international platform in the cleaning and facilities management industries - and the 5th edition, in a new digital format, recently concluded with great success.
During the four days on which the plenary sessions were held (13th, 14th, 20th and 21st October), 23 speakers from a range of sectors - healthcare, politics, showbiz, culture and entrepreneurship - took to the virtual stage.
The guest list included the Deputy Health Minister, Pierpaolo Sileri, Walter Ricciardi, Professor of Hygiene and Public Health at the Catholic University and member of the WHO Executive Board, economist Giulio Sapelli, anthropologist Jenean Merkel Perelstein, presenter Gerry Scotti, Dirk Beveridge, a business consultant and founder of UnleashWD, Franco Arminio, poet, author and director, Massimo Artorige Giubilesi, Hygiene & Food Safety Corporate Advisor, Chair of the Lombardy and Liguria Order of Food Technologists, Giancarlo Perbellini, chef with 2 Michelin stars (pictured), and the actor Luca Barbareschi. These main events were flanked by nine workshops and the presentation of four case studies.
Despite the challenges brought by this incredibly difficulty year, Forum Pulire has displayed once again - as it has done every edition since 2012, those aspects that make it a truly unique format. At the heart of its success is the nature of the guests, and the cross-cutting and in-depth approach to fundamental issues for contemporary societies and economies, including hygiene and the integrated services industry.
The figures tell the same story, with the number of participants rising to 729, marking an increase of over 45% on the 2018 edition. These participants came from 26 countries, across four continents.
Exhibitor participation was also impressive, driven by their ability to actively participate in the event through the creation of an innovative portal. The 35 exhibitors - companies selling professional cleaning products, distributors, facilities management firms, cleaning and integrated services companies, associations, institutions, HORECA businesses, healthcare facilities - were able to make contact with the public and visitors in the ‘meeting rooms’ where it was possible to speak directly to someone via a video call. Finally, to make the whole experience more immersive, the exhibitors were able to welcome guests directly into their own 3D showrooms.
"It was definitely not an easy venture, but we are extremely pleased with the results that Forum pulire achieved in this digital version," explains Toni D'Andrea, CEO of the ISSA Pulire Network. "We worked very hard to ensure top quality content and technological solutions, and the figures show our efforts paid dividends."
