At the cutting edge: Wessel-Werk launches innovative battery concept

* Wessel-Werk-concept.jpgReduced, compact and with a selected audience of trade visitors and international media representatives; this year's IFA Special Edition presented itself in a special guise this month in Berlin in the wake of the Corona pandemic.

The German manufacturer of vacuum cleaner nozzles and accessories, Wessel-Werk, successfully used this extraordinary platform to present its revolutionary battery concept. The innovative solution consisting of an electric brush and a battery-operated vacuum cleaner pipe was convincing across the board.

As a combination of a physical and virtual live event, the international technology fair boasted exhibitors from around the world who were able to showcase their product innovations in a safe environment. As one of the few exhibitors on site, Wessel-Werk used the special IFA format to present its battery concept to around 6100 trade fair visitors. The innovative solution combines the new EBK 250 electric brush and a battery-powered vacuum cleaner tube, which, says the company, makes an electric brush usable for all vacuum cleaner types for the first time.

"With our battery solution, we are right on the cutting edge," explains Wolfgang Geurden, head of marketing and sales at Wessel-Werk. "The concept is modern, powerful and technically at the highest level. A system that has never been seen before, with which we are setting new standards for floor cleaning...

The electric brush EBK 250 is ideal for the ever-growing market segment of battery-powered cleaners, as well as other mains-operated vacuum cleaner types. This cross-device use is facilitated by the new vacuum cleaner pipe with a powerful 3.5 ampere-hour battery pack.

Whether back, sledge or drum vacuum cleaner, the power tube drives the brush roller powerfully without the need for an additional power supply from the vacuum cleaner. Depending on the type of vacuum cleaner, the tube permits around 90 minutes of cleaning performance.

The EBK 250 is used on both hard floors and carpets and delivers consistently excellent cleaning results.

The electric brush has a replaceable brush roll that can be quickly and individually adapted to the cleaned surface. The working width of 250 millimeters ensures comfortable and efficient work at the same time. LED suction field lighting and the integrated tool for cleaning the brush roller complete the practice-orientated design. The ambient lighting inside the nozzle also gives it added elegance.

"Our battery concept was convincing," says Wolfgang. "The feedback was consistently positive, almost even better than expected.

"For us, the IFA is always an important platform for personal exchange and the ideal opportunity to gather a broad range of opinions - also and especially in the challenging times as they currently prevail. Thanks to the exemplary organisation on the part of the fair, personal participation was again possible this year without risk."

In addition to the battery concept, Wessel-Werk presented another innovation for the first time at the IFA: Speed Glider - an attachment for its multifunctional ClickBrush vacuum cleaner nozzle.

Explains Geurden: "The attachment is specially designed for carpet cleaning and is nicknamed 'The fastest nozzle in the world'. The Speed Glider has a rounded bottom part, which enables it to glide effortlessly over the carpet. This gives it a high level of comfort in use and allows a very fast and efficient cleaning process.
As well as its standard products, Wessel-Werk offers tailor-made system solutions for country and customer-specific requirements.
