State university campus now ready for safe occupation

* ECO_Logic.jpgEco Logic, a company that maintains textiles and flooring for commercial clients using environmentally-friendly solutions, has been hired by Fitchburg State University, a public university located in Massachusetts, US, to sanitise and disinfect 460,000sq.ft across multiple buildings on campus, including dormitories, to assist in the response to the pandemic.

While the facilities were not at that stage available, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts requested that they be readied in case of future need.

"As our campus community has transitioned to a remote learning model for the remainder of the semester, we are happy to collaborate with state agencies in making spaces available on campus - if needed - to help respond to the pandemic," said Fitchburg State University President Richard S. Lapidus.

The US Environmental Protection Agency maintains a list of products (List N) that meet the agency's criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2, the novel coronavirus that causes Covid-19. Using electrostatic sprayers and fogging equipment along with Vital Oxide, a hospital-grade disinfectant that is included on the EPA's List N, ECO Logic has helped allay fears that spaces may have become contaminated by Coronavirus.

By definition, the electrostatic process allows for highly charged, almost ‘magnetised’ molecules of disinfectant to seek out and cling to surfaces, allowing much more even and efficient use of the disinfectant. More reaches the targeted surfaces than using an ordinary sprayer and hand wipe system. The charged spray provides broad spectrum coverage; in addition, the charged mist also penetrates cracks and crannies as it is naturally drawn to uncoated surfaces.
