Cintas spotlights superhero EVS technicians during nationwide awards program
Cintas Corporation is now accepting nominations for its first-annual C.A.P.E. Award (Cleaning to Advance the Patient Experience), which recognises Environmental Service (EVS) technicians in acute care facilities as superheroes. Nominations are being accepted at www.CintasCapeAwards.com through 21st August, 2020.
Created to celebrate EVS technicians who don masks and gloves, instead of capes, to work on the frontline of patient care, the program awards $2,500 to eight winners and a $2,500 donation on their behalf to their healthcare institution or charity of their choice. They will also receive a Rubbermaid charging bucket with Rubbermaid products inside.
"EVS technicians are essential in providing a clean and safe environment for all staff, patients and visitors at healthcare facilities, and although they work diligently to maintain healthcare facilities, these unsung heroes are often overlooked," says Chad Poeppelmeier, vice president of healthcare, Cintas. "We are proud to recognise the healthcare heroes who display kindness and courage in everything they do, and spend countless hours maintaining facilities to prevent infection. This contest highlights the crucial work EVS technicians in acute care facilities do each day."
The Cintas C.A.P.E. Award is open to all acute care EVS technicians who have worked at their facility for at least one year. Nominations must be 500 words or less on why the nominee is deserving of the award and submitted by 21st August, 2020. Cintas and Rubbermaid will select eight EVS technicians to be crowned the 2020 Cintas C.A.P.E. Award winners on September 13th during EVS Week.
Marta Aebischer, VP marketing, Rubbermaid Commercial Products, says: "We are proud to partner with Cintas to honour the hard and meaningful work that EVS technicians do on a daily basis, especially during these unprecedented times.
"We are committed to developing new solutions and tools, they can use to assure the wellbeing and safety of patients, visitors and staff members."
