Essential services and key workers: Statement from the Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association

“Following discussion, the Government has confirmed that those involved in the production and distribution of cleaning and hygiene products are classified as key workers.

It is our understanding that Government is avoiding precise definitions to avoid a key sector being missed.

For those who need to prove that you or your employees are a key worker in an essential service we have produced a pdf. Give a copy of this pdf, accompanied by a photocopy of your membership certificate, to each employee so they can prove your status to whom it may concern.

We are working closely with partner organisations including the British Cleaning Council, Cleaning Support Services Association and the Food Packaging Association.

We want to support and help you through this challenging and confusing time, whether it is updating you on Government guidance and support or advice on the wellbeing of employees.

With intense pressure on business leaders, we understand that this may be an isolating experience for our members. With this in mind we have set up a temporary private group on LinkedIn where you can connect with peers. Only members will be accepted into the group.”
