Fleet-cleaning partnership helps DPD polish zero-emission credentials

* Fleet-cleaning-DPD.jpgParcel delivery company DPD has appointed eco-friendly car wash company Dropless.co.uk in an innovative, new partnership. Water-free vehicle cleaning service Dropless will be responsible for ensuring the fleet vehicles at DPD's all-electric Westminster parcel depot remain spotless.

DPD Westminster was the UK's first all-electric parcel depot and is part of a network of zero-emission DPD micro depots in London. The parcel giant uses a fleet of electric trucks, vans and micro-vehicles for both incoming parcels, and last-mile deliveries, to provide a completely emission-free service.

Now DPD has gone the extra mile in committing to its environmental goals, by appointing Dropless as its new fleet washing partner at Westminster.

Dropless uses electric mopeds and electric bikes to get to its clients' vehicles, and offers a water-free vehicle cleaning service, saving up to 300 litres of water for every vehicle washed. Its innovative water-free cleaning solution also prevents any run-off waste water, helping to preserve the local environment.

"Dropless is very proud to partner with DPD and help its Westminster depot enhance its eco-friendly credentials even further," says Christian Duncan, Dropless co-founder and CEO.

"Almost every aspect of Dropless is guided by our commitment to the environment, so it's great to be able to partner with an organisation like DPD that shares our values.

"Hopefully this partnership will lead to more organisations setting an objective of zero-emission supply chains when it comes to managing their fleets."

Mark Wilkes, director of technical services at DPD, says: "DPD has led the way in terms of investment in electronic vehicles and our Westminster depot is a groundbreaking initiative. Our wider aim is to be the most responsible city centre delivery company and that includes looking at our supply chain for innovative and eco-friendly solutions.

"Our electric vehicles are really eye-catching and have been making heads turn in the capital, so it is important that they always look great. But they also need to be out on the road all day. Dropless offers us a smart, fast and accountable solution that keeps our vehicles working hard and looking fantastic."
