Mitie brings Pride to Birmingham's bus stops
Mitie is supporting diversity celebrations in Birmingham, by working with the West Midlands Combined Authority in the lead up to Birmingham Pride 2019, which takes place in the city this weekend. For the second year running, Mitie has donated its time and services to WMCA to help get the city in the Pride spirit by transforming bus shelters and signs with a rainbow upgrade and some deep cleaning.
Mitie's team has undertaken a deep clean of the Smallbrook Queensway bus shelter - which features on the route of the parade this Saturday - ahead of it being painted in Pride rainbow colours. Around 40 specially designed Pride hearts have also been installed in bus shelters across the city centre with Pride rainbow vinyls decorating bus totems.
Mitie is also showing its own Pride, by adding Pride hearts to its Birmingham fleet and volunteering time to support WMCA at the Pride Parade.
"Championing diversity is core to the culture of our business, so we're incredibly proud to be working with the West Midlands Combined Authority to support Birmingham Pride once again this year," says Kevin Murgatroyd, transport director of Mitie.
"We hope local residents and visitors alike will enjoy using their new Pride-themed bus stops!"
