Warm welcome for new products provides perfect 50th birthday boost for Arrow Solutions
One of the UK's leading manufacturers of professional cleaning and maintenance chemicals is celebrating its 50th birthday in style, after securing substantial business from the aerospace industry for its new impregnated wipe products.
Arrow Solutions, which was founded in 1968, has grown into one of the most respected manufacturers in its field, supplying customers across the high value engineering, rail, defence, aerospace and energy sectors, as well as the commercial hygiene marketplace.
The last 12 months has seen a strong performance thanks to its commitment to developing and launching high performance cleaning solutions that are also kinder to the environment.
Impregnated wipes are proving extremely popular for manual cleaning requirements within engineering, as they save time and eliminate the need to transport, store and decant bulk and often hazardous liquids.
"Manual cleaning typically requires the use of a cloth or dry wipe - providing an already impregnated wipe is simple, more cost efficient, less hazardous and easier overall for the end user," explains Jonathan Lane, sales director at Arrow Solutions.
"There is also the green factor to consider. We supply reusable tubs and refill packs to reduce plastic waste and large transportation costs, helping to minimise our carbon footprint in the process.
"It reflects the world we live in. Our customers want professional cleaning products that do the job, but are also friendly to the environment.
"There have been huge changes in customer requirements over the past 50 years and two things we have done well is continued to invest in being ahead of market demand through R&D and consistently improving our manufacturing facilities."
Arrow Solutions has expanded its industrial wipes range with the addition of Rapide (ideal for removing ink and dye marks), Lotoxane and Lotoxane HD (for general degreasing) and Powersolve (sealant removal) wipes - all of which carry aerospace approvals.
It has also completely reformulated one of its older products called Shield, which offers corrosion prevention for metal parts in transport or storage. This has taken performance to a new level and, importantly, it is now classified as non-flammable, a significant benefit compared to other products on the market
A special gala dinner was held recently to celebrate Arrow Solutions' 50th birthday, with guests hearing from joint managing director Tony Brealey on joining Arrow Solutions as a stop-gap job only to still be here nearly 40 years later.
He was followed on stage by Amit Mathur (managing director of Bitec in Dubai) and Paul Melrose (sales director of Instock in Scotland), who both gave personal insights of their working relationships with Arrow, before Tom Brunsvik of Aquatiq in Norway gave an entertaining reflection and photo highlights of a relationship that has spanned more than four decades.
"Our expansion has been down to the close agreements we have with our international distributors and the excellent working partnerships we have in place with customers, including many global OEMs," continues Jonathan.
"The two-day event was all about celebrating those partnerships and I think everyone who attended had a great time and the opportunity to discover more about Arrow, with lots of informal meetings taking place amongst the fun and games."
Traditional gifts to mark the company's 50th birthday were presented from customers around the world, including China, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and Turkey.
