Belfast weekend demonstrates benefits of wet cleaning

* Belfast-weekend-demo.jpgIn partnership with William Clements (Chemicals) and National Laundry (NLIE), laundry chemicals specialist Christeyns has run the second of its 2018 Wet Cleaning events. The two-day open house event, held at McCall Cleaners in Belfast, Northern Ireland, showcased Christeyns' innovative AquaWave concept in combination with premium National Laundry equipment.

"Holding the event in a working venue was a real bonus," says Hemant Zavery (pictured), business development manager and wet cleaning specialist at Christeyns.

"McCall Cleaners moved over to wet cleaning earlier in the year and has had great success. We were able to demonstrate the system in action and visitors to the event could experience the feel, fragrance and finish of the textiles."

Earlier in 2018 McCall dry cleaners made the decision to move away from 'dry cleaning' and adopt a completely 'wet cleaning' system. Proprietor, Colin McCall, says it has been a very positive step and results have been outstanding, allowing the team to be able to provide an efficient and environmentally-friendly service.

Brendan Clifford from NLIE comments: "It was a very successful open day and we are already getting some great feedback."

Visitors came from both Northern Ireland and Eire and as Dermot Clements from William Clements Chemicals reiterates, running the event in an actual outlet meant that everyone could easily relate to the processes and the different fabrics being demonstrated.

AquaWave, from Cole & Wilson, part of the Christeyns family, is sold under the Pro-Fit range of products. The combination of innovative chemicals and a balanced cleaning process used in a wet cleaning system, produces outstanding results and easy finishing for all types of delicate fabrics.

With the right machinery, finishing equipment and Pro-Fit range of products, professional dry cleaning can be carried out safely, to a very high quality standard, using the wet cleaning method. AquaWave can be used on a wide range of textiles and even suede, leather and UGG boots can be cleaned using the system.

Cole & Wilson, like its parent company Christeyns, takes its environmental responsibilities very seriously. Pro-Fit Body is readily biodegradable and the surfactants in Pro-Fit Wool comply with the EU Directive EU648/2004 on Biodegradability of Surfactants.
