Woolsafe Conference

* Woolsafe-conference.jpgThe 8th WoolSafe Education Conference is taking place Thursday 4th and Friday 5th October. This fantastic learning and networking opportunity for WoolSafe Approved Service Providers, Licensees and Associate Members, is held almost annually either in the UK, Australia or in the US. This year's event is taking place in Bradford, UK - a city that hit the headlines this week for having the lowest house prices in England!

A morning of seminars and an afternoon of specialist workshops await exhibitors and attendees on day one of the Conference, which is sponsored by WoolSafe chemical licensees: Legend Brands Europe, Prochem Europe, Sebo and Fibre ProTector.

The morning seminars include the latest WoolSafe research into the use of enzymes, successfully marketing a cleaning business and a panel of experts discussing specialist treatments on wool carpets and rugs.

In the afternoon, various workshops, delivered by industry leading tutors, will run simultaneously and will cover:

* Rug Identification - Ruth Travis, WoolSafe North America director
* Specialist Treatments - Paul Pearce, WoolSafe Certified Trainer
* Inspection Experiments - Dr Eric M Brown, WoolSafe Certified Trainer; Dr Agnes Zsednai, WoolSafe managing director; Barbara Walker, WoolSafe senior technologist
* Cleaning Fine Textiles - Julie Roberts, WoolSafe Certified Trainer
* Carpet Repair - Adam Jankowski, Woolsafe Certified Trainer

This jam-packed line up will be followed by an update on the latest developments at WoolSafe, the organisation's plans for the future and an open forum for questions and discussion.

A gala dinner, sponsored by WoolSafe Academy, will close day one. This evening banquet includes a three-course set meal served in a relaxed atmosphere. We are told that lots of business has been sealed over a glass of wine during the evening banquets... as well as plenty of laughs amongst friends.

On the second day, delegates can choose between two tours: learning about wool processing and carpet making, or manufacturing carpet cleaning chemicals.

The popular 'Fleece to Floor Tour follows the whole wool carpet production chain with visits to British Wool, Howarth Scouring, Lawton Yarns and a Calder Carpets - a quality manufacturer of bespoke Axminster carpets.

Participants in the Cleaning Product Manufacturing Plant Tour will get to have a look around a plant producing over 30 million bottles a year. They will look at the Plant's research and development laboratory to see how it formulates and continually reformulates, and tests its products. There will be an overview of the production of solutions, quality control, bottling, labelling and packaging systems needed to run a smooth operation producing 70 different product types/ranges.

Exhibitor stands will be arranged around the main room where the conference will be held so exhibitors will be present and accessible to attendees throughout the day. There will be breaks during the day when delegates can visit the stands to examine the latest products on offer.

The event is taking place at the Midland Hotel and WoolSafe has negotiated a special discount for those wishing to book rooms for overnight stays.
