Star Platforms provide access to Concorde
UK powered access company, Star Platforms, provided a Skyjack 6826RT diesel scissor lift on a next day dispatch to support a maintenance job carried out by one of its customers at Brooklands Museum in Weybridge, Surrey.
Having previously worked on projects at Brooklands Museum, the Star Platforms customer was approached again to help with an exterior drywash of the retired Concorde G-BBDG. The contractor needed to ensure its team had the right tool to do the job and turned to Star Platforms for help in accessing the iconic aircraft to carry out maintenance work.
After a brief discussion with the hire desk team, a Skyjack 6826RT scissor lift was selected. With a working height of 9.75m and a lifting capacity of 567Kg; this compact series Skyjack scissor lift is perfect for outdoor maintenance tasks. Those working from it could position themselves alongside the aircraft with precision and accuracy to complete the job to a high standard; safe in the knowledge no harm would come to the Concorde whilst they carried out their work.
"Having worked previously on projects for Brooklands Museum, including performing an exterior drywash last year on Concorde, it was a pleasure to help when it contacted us for assistance once again," explains General manager, Wayne. "The first thing we always arrange is access equipment; so I dropped Jack at Star Platforms an email and he seamlessly arranged the scissor lift to get delivered to site the very next day."
