We are sad to announce that the cleaning industry has lost one of its most well-known public relations professionals.
Chris Klopper, founder & CEO of Mulberry Marketing Communications, a PR and marketing communications consultancy Chris started in 1995 which now has seven offices on four continents, passed away on Sunday after a short illness.
At Mulberry, over the years, Chris helped, designed, or ran the communications campaigns for a diverse portfolio of clients including ISSA, Diversey (in several of its many forms), Truvox International, Hydro Systems, Unger Enterprises, Metsa Tissue, Deb and Rubbermaid Commercial Products. Our paths crossed decades before we joined the cleaning industry though, when Chris worked for PR outfit Spurgeon Walker Klopper and prior to that, (if our memory serves us correctly) Ogilvy PR. His clients, even back then in his youth, used to speak highly of him, while Chris was instrumental in organising one of our best remembered press events - a Christmas party thrown by Honeywell, at Madame Tussauds.
In recent years, Chris has lectured at Dimensions International Business School (Singapore) and spoken at various industry events including the UK Cleaning Show.
Those who knew Chris will be aware that despite his work, which involved a lot of international travel, he loved spending precious time with his wife Alison and children Saskia and Seb, who are no doubt reeling from the shock of losing him.
