Bunzl Canada's candidate wins Great Canadian Sales Competition

* Bunzl-Canada.jpgBunzl Canada has this week announced that its candidate was the winner of the annual Great Canadian Sales Competition in Toronto. The winner and runners up were announced at a gala evening attended by corporate sponsors and contest finalists.

Bunzl is one of the founding sponsors of the competition and said it is delighted to see its representative candidate, Herbert Bempah, selected as the winner and awarded the $7500 grand prize.

The Great Canadian Sales Competition is Canada's biggest student competition. It introduces and educates university and college students each year on sales as a potential career path, helping them to develop real world business and sales skills. This year's competition included more than 3,500 entrants from across the country.

"The Great Canadian Sales Competition is a great opportunity for us to connect with the next generation of sales talent," said Bunzl Canada's president, John Howlett. "Young people are the future of companies like ours, so it's vital for us to reach out to them, develop a social presence, and communicate to them about the tremendous career opportunities that a role in sales can provide."

Carey Berdock, director, Food Processing at Bunzl, was the sales coach for the winning candidate. "I really enjoyed the experience" he said. "Herbert's passion, enthusiasm and dedication clearly shone through during the competition and I know he will have a prosperous future ahead of him."

Corporate social responsibility is an important element of Bunzl Canada's corporate culture. The company supports a variety of local events and charitable causes in communities across the country.

The company provides the food and retail packaging, cleaning and hygiene, safety and industrial supplies that keep over 45,000 Canadian businesses running optimally, every day. It brings its customers the advantage of global sourcing, product innovation and national scale combined with responsive local service and deep category expertise.
