Princes Quay confirmed as Aston's largest single site contract award

* Princes-Quay.jpgAston Services Group has been awarded the contract to provide cleaning and security (manned guarding) services to Princes Quay shopping centre in Hull.

The contractor will also be delivering a number of associated services including waste management, washroom services, air care, periodic and high level glass cleaning and maritime control of the dock upon which the centre is built.

The 450,000sq.ft centre, on the quayside at the heart of Hull, provides shops, leisure and food outlets all in one complex. It is Europe's first hybrid model shopping centre combining outlet stores with traditional high street shops and leisure all at one location in a city centre.

Hull is experiencing something of a renaissance with the city being heralded as Capital of Culture 2017 (a status the city holds for three years) and this alongside the fantastic new Hull Venue, being built adjacent to Princes Quay.

John Magee (centre of picture), centre manager at Princes Quay (asset managed by Realm), comments: "Realm has an established relationship with Aston Services Group and we have found that the company is really well aligned with our needs and ethos. Its highly bespoke proposition, tailored to the specific requirements here at Princes Quay, will stand us in good stead in our partnership.

"This is an exciting time for Princes Quay and we are looking to take the whole customer service offering to the next level. With the genuine threat from online shopping we must 'up our game' and promote what is best about our shopping centres - namely our people and the whole visitor experience."

James Wheeler (right of picture), managing director of Aston Services Group, says: "We are really pleased to be working alongside John and his excellent team here at Princes Quay. This 'team' mentality will succeed in taking the entire customer service offering to the next level - and we are committed to playing our part in making Princes Quay the number one visitor attraction at the heart of Hull."

Alistair Clayton (left of picture), commercial director of Aston Services Group adds: ''We see this award as a key foundation stone to underpin further organic growth within the shopping centre sector - Princes Quay is highly regarded as a true destination centre and to be entrusted with this multi-million pound award clearly demonstrates our ever-developing capabilities and successful people and service focused business model.''
