CMA investigates Rentokil Initial / Cannon Hygiene merger

The Competition & Markets Authority is investigating the completed acquisition on New Year's Day of Cannon Hygiene by Rentokil Initial. An initial enforcement order has been issued to Rentokil Initial under section 72(2) of the Enterprise Act 2002, which covers the consequences of mergers in terms of the potential, substantial lessening of competition within the UK market for goods or services.
