Diversey Care to sell discovery robotics' machines under its Taski brand

* DISCOVERY.jpgSealed Air announced on Tuesday that its Diversey Care division has agreed on terms to sell and distribute Discovery Robotics' autonomous floor cleaning machines under its Taski brand.

Under the agreement, Diversey Care will have the exclusive license to sell Discovery Robotics' floor cleaning machines in the Americas and Europe. In addition, Diversey Care will have non-exclusive rights in all other global territories.

Discovery Robotics was founded in 2014 by people who believe that robots will make the world a better, safer place for all of us. The company mission is to increase human productivity, safety and quality of life by creating robotic solutions that deliver unique value to customers. Located in Pittsburgh, PA, leveraging the talent powerhouse of Carnegie Mellon University and its Robotics Institute, Discovery Robotics is one of 24 companies backed by Industrial Scientific Corp. since 2013. It is a member of Industrial Scientific's iNet Alliance which is committed to eliminating death on the job in this century.

"Discovery Robotics has created a leading-edge solution based on 3D lidar, sonar, ultrawide band and other technologies to create a patent-pending indoor navigation and localisation system," said Thomas Boscher, general manager of Intellibot Robotics at Diversey Care.

This agreement reinforces our strategy to own the space by designing, building and partnering, as needed, to stay ahead of the competition while bringing substantial new value to our customers and shareholders.

Kent McElhattan, CEO of Discovery Robotics, said: "Our agreement with Diversey Care is a positive validation of our robotic solution and product vision. We believe this partnership with will energise more rapid market adoption of robotics and is critical to our success. It will allow us to leverage Diversey Care's global sales and distribution network, its field support network and its many years of working with robotic floor cleaning equipment."

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed and is not material to Sealed Air's financial results.
