Beating bedbugs and bacteria: how to clean a mattress effectively

* Lindhaus-mattresses.jpgWe have been reading a lot in the news recently about dirty hotels, poor cleaning regimes and problems caused by an abundance of bedbugs.

Lindhaus argues that the periodic cleaning of mattresses is absolutely necessary to prevent the formation of bacteria that can cause allergies and dermatitis.

"The cleaning of mattresses is often neglected in the hotel industry where, in view of the daily turnover, special attention should be paid to the cleanliness and health of the customers," says Michele Massaro, president of Lindhaus.

"Recent scientific studies have shown in fact that, year on year, a variety of harmful bacteria - dangerous to the body - settle on mattresses and pillows.

"Mites and bedbugs especially, are a common cause of respiratory allergies, but they can also cause dermatitis. The temperature and the moisture produced by human sweat, result in the conditions that promote their growth."

Michele argues that this is the reason it is necessary to periodically clean mattresses. The company has designed accessories specifically for the cleaning of mattresses - ideal for use with the multifunction vacuum cleaner HF6 Pro eco Force and the multifunction vacuum cleaner HealthcarePro eco Force. Videos show how to go about the cleaning of mattresses using the two machines:
