Brighton Cityclean dispute settled
Cleanzine understands that there will be no further industrial action in the Brighton Cityclean dispute following a significantly revised offer from the Council which has been accepted by members of the GMB union.
The dispute, which concerned proposed pay cuts of up to £4,000 a head for staff within the city's refuse, recycling and street cleansing departments, led to a week-long strike. Negotiations took place which led to a proposal to redesign the service, thus preventing pay losses for staff.
